The Esher and Walton branch of the European Movement are hosting an exciting event with Lord Andrew Adonis and Simon Usherwood, where they will discuss the latest in Brexit news and answer audience questions.
Lord Adonis was originally an academic, journalist, and local councillor. In 1998 he joined the No. 10 Policy Unit under Tony Blair. He has been Minister of State, Secretary of State for Transport, and Minister of State for Education. Today, he is a Labour Peer and campaigner for a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal.
Dr. Simon Usherwood is a Deputy Director of the ESRC's "UK in a Changing Europe" programme which conducts unbiased research into Britain's relationship with the EU. Since 2003, he has been a Reader in Politics at Surrey University. He also holds a Master's Degree in European Politics from the College of Europe in Bruges, and a PhD in Euroscepticism from the London School of Economics.
