Professor Michael Dougan who was acclaimed as the internet star of the June referendum when his lecture on the ‘industrial-scale dishonesty’ of the Leave campaign attracted seven million hits on Facebook and YouTube has attracted considerable notice for his clear and measured analysis of the current post-referendum situation from his perspective as a leading EU lawyer. The reality, as he sees it, does not look rosy and so a key question he will be addressing is what does this mean for the future of Britain?
Michael is Professor of European Law and Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Law at the University of Liverpool. He specialises in EU Law and has published widely on the subject. As an expert on EU law, Michael has provided written evidence to various Parliamentary enquiries; appeared as an expert witness before the House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee and the House of Lords European Union Committee; and acted as an external advisor to Government departments on important developments concerning the UK’s ongoing relationship with the EU.
Michael recently spoke in Bath to a sell-out audience of 850.
