"With the next general election on the horizon, the pressure is on for every party to say where it actually stands on Europe - and critically - their positions on joining the EU. Mike Galsworthy, Chair of European Movement UK, sets out what “targeting the manifestos” really means in practice: how to seize this moment between now and the next General Election to pin down political party commitments for the next parliament and very specifically - get a public mandate at that vote for opening accession talks for full EU membership. The movement needs a target for campaigning. The next general election is that pivot point, but there are a lot of gear wheels that interact with it.
