EU-UK relations in a world of disorder - with Lord Ricketts

Organised by the European Movement’s International Committee (IC), join us on Wednesday, 6 Dec for an online, in-conversation event - UK-EU relations in a world of disorder - with Lord Ricketts.

Lord Ricketts will discuss the UK’s place in the world post-Brexit, with special reference to the need for UK collaboration with the EU on global affairs.

Lord Ricketts has a long and distinguished career in British politics and is one of the most respected pro-Europeans active in UK politics.

From serving under Prime Ministers Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron, Lord Ricketts will speak with unrivalled credibility about UK- EU relations in a world of disorder.

Lord Ricketts has quite the CV. He was the Permanent Representative to NATO in Brussels; Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, as Permanent Secretary for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and as the UK’s Ambassador to France.

Today, he chairs the European Affairs Committee, one of the busiest parliamentary select committees.

Format of the event
----------
The talk by Lord Ricketts will be followed by a response from former Minister of Defence, and the CEO of European Movement UK, Nick Harvey. Then the floor will open to you, the audience, for a Q&A session.

This looks set to be a fascinating conversation, from two people who really understand how the UK’s relationship with the EU works.
