The European Movement UK has a long and proud tradition of hosting high-profile events dating back to its foundation in 1949. For over 70 years we have welcomed leaders from the worlds of politics, industry, and community to our stages including the likes of Michael Heseltine, Peter Kellner, Caroline Lucas, Howard Goodall, and even Winston Churchill who was our first President.
Our team were also central to the events of the People's Vote Campaign, which included marches that put 1 million people on the streets of London... twice.
As a people-powered movement we are also proud of our members and our activists and whether it be hosting an event, speaking at an event, or having their activism celebrated in a grassroots spotlight video we always do what we can to put our the grassroots front and centre.
COVID-19 forced us to move to virtual-only events for two years but we rose to the challenge, hosting a series of engaging and informative events that ranged from small member-only events to mass online campaign rallies watched live by over 10,000 people. We even hosted our first online conference, featuring high-profile speakers from across the UK and Europe, watched by thousands of people.
Since the world started opening up again we have continued to host engaging online and hybrid events which have included grassroots summits, livestreams focusing on the situation in Ukraine, events at party conferences, and a sold out event at a Central London theatre featuring four big names from British politics.
