Special Street Stall at the Braderie de Lille

The Braderie de Lille in Leeds twin city of Lille is the largest street market in Europe. Every year on the first weekend in September a large part of the city is closed to traffic to allow for 100 kilometres of aisles and 10,000 stall holders attracting between 2 and 3 million visitors over the two days.

The Porte de Paris area of the city is given over to political "associations" to allow them to promote their causes, engage with citizens and generally promote what they do. A team from Leeds for Europe will have a street stall over both days of the event with an objective of engaging with as many Europeans as possible to understand their views on Brexit, the EU and to let them know that there are people in the UK who regard ourselves as European, still believe in the EU ideals of cooperation, peace, democracy and solidarity. We will also take the message that many of us in the UK are working hard to ensure that one day the UK will rejoin the European family.
