As a part of our participation in the nationwide Day For Rejoin 2024 Leeds for Europe are holding a very special event in a very special venue.
From Byline TV, part of the Byline Times network, we are proud to present a cinema screening of the compelling documentary, Betrayed: The Truth About Brexit. The screening will be followed by a live discussion and Q&A with founder of Byline Times, Peter Jukes, editor of Byline Times, Hardeep Matharu and founder of Save British Farming, Liz Webster (who features in the film).
This powerful film exposes the reality of Brexit and how we got here, and asks the question – will we ever rejoin the European Union?
The film sets out to explore the deeper, long term causes of Brexit stretching back to austerity and even Tony Blair, the chaos it has unleashed in the UK, and why the people who voted for it now feel betrayed by the very people they chose to follow in 2016.
The best way to really appreciate the power of Betrayed: The Truth About Brexit is to see it on the big screen, which is why we have arranged this screening at the iconic Hyde Park Picture House - one of the oldest cinemas in the country! Built in 1914, Grade II listed, and recently benefiting from a multi-million pound refurbishment, a visit to this historic and beautiful Leeds picture house is a must. Don't miss your chance to combine a memorable visit to this magnificent venue with a rare opportunity to see this important film.
