Ealing residents join 700,000 on the People's Vote March for the Future

On Saturday 20th October, pro-European activists from the Ealing European Movement joined a 700,000 strong protest marching from Park Lane to Parliament Square in Central London to demand a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal.

Ealing residents marched alongside the European Movement of Hammersmith, Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham, and the campaign group Liverpool for Europe, in the largest demonstration for many years in London, the People's Vote March for the Future. 150 coaches from across the country joined the March, which stretched for many miles through the streets of the city centre.

After marching the route, speeches were heard from various public figures in Parliament Square, including Sadiq Khan, Anna Soubry MP, Vince Cable MP, Caroline Lucas MP, Chuka Umunna MP, Joanna Cherry MP, Phil Wilson MP, Sarah Wollaston MP, NUS President Shakira Martin, Steve Coogan, Delia Smith and Deborah Meaden.

Aerial footage shared by the People's Vote campaign shows London streets filled with people along the entire route, with more having joined throughout the day.

A spokesperson for the Ealing European Movement said "The turnout we've had today perfectly indicates the mood of the British people today. It's time the people took back control of the Brexit process and made their own decisions about their future. Our campaign doesn't stop here at all - we're working hard over the days, weeks and months to come to ensure that people get a final say on Brexit."
