Everything your solicitor needs
If you already have a solicitor or will writer, they can add a gift to European Movement UK to a new will, or to your existing will, with a simple addition called a codicil. Simply share our details and the suggested wording.
Making sure our full name and company number are correct helps ensure your gift reaches us exactly as you intend.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to leave a large amount?
Not at all. Gifts of every size make a difference, helping to fund our work for years to come.
How do I make sure my family is looked after?
We always encourage you to provide for the people closest to you first. A residuary gift is a share of whatever remains once loved ones and costs are taken care of, which is why many people choose it.
Is my gift free of Inheritance Tax?
European Movement UK is a not-for-profit membership organisation rather than a registered charity, so gifts to us do not qualify for the charity exemption from Inheritance Tax. Your solicitor or will writer can explain how this affects your estate.
Can I use the free will services if I live in Scotland or Northern Ireland?
Yes. The National Free Wills Network works with solicitors across the UK. Farewill's online service covers England and Wales, and members in Scotland and Northern Ireland can use its telephone service instead. If you are unsure, call us on 020 8126 1400 and we will point you in the right direction.
Can I change my mind later?
Of course. Your will is yours, and you can update it at any time as your circumstances change.
Can my gift support a particular area of work?
Yes, although a gift for our movement as a whole gives us the flexibility to use it where it is needed most at the time. If you would like to support something specific, please talk to us first so we can make sure we can honour your wishes.
Do I have to tell you I have left a gift?
There is no obligation to inform us of a gift. But, if you are happy to let us know, it gives us the chance to thank you personally and keep you updated on the difference your support will make.
