Nick Harvey

CEO
Nick is CEO, leading our staff and organisation and taking EMUK’s message to new places and people.

He was Lib Dem MP for North Devon (1992–2015), Defence Minister in the coalition government, and CEO of the Lib Dems during Vince Cable’s leadership (2017-19).

He previously chaired the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, is an associate with Global Partners and on the board of the charity Democratys.

He was knighted in 2012 and uses his wide political connections and experience to lead EMUK's campaigning.

Emma Knaggs

Head of Grassroots Engagement / Deputy CEO

    Emma is Deputy CEO and also heads up the grassroots efforts of the European Movement, supporting local groups, activists and supporters to take action across the country.

    She joined in April 2022, after spending three years in a similar role at Make Votes Matter, and is also Chair of Bath for Europe.

Andrew Plant

Head of Press & Media

    Andrew is head of Press & Media of the European Movement; he works to make sure the European Movement and our spokespeople appear in the national news.

    Andrew joined in June 2023 and knows the media landscape inside out. Before heading to EMUK Andrew was the Director of Public Relations at Cratus Communications. Prior to that, he spent 17 years as a BBC correspondent, working across the 6 and 10 O'Clock News, the Today Programme on Radio 4, and the BBC Website Live Pages, as well as covering the Europe desk.

Anne Clark

Head of Membership

    Anne is head of Membership at EM and focuses on growing EM as a mass membership organisation, through mobilising supporters to take meaningful actions and encouraging people to join the movement.

    She joined in October 2022, and prior to joining European Movement UK worked in the digital charity space for over 8 years, with charities such as PETA, Forward Action, Amnesty, Refuge and Dignity in Dying.

Head of Finance

    Catherine has a solid background in the Not-for-Profit sector, having worked with many UK-based charities. She has previously held vital roles in finance training for staff, emphasising procedural reviews and streamlining processes.

Richard Kilpatrick

Campaign Manager

    Richard works to deliver the European Movement's national campaigns, online and offline, and to ensure awareness of the impact of Brexit across the UK.

    A graduate of Northumbria University, Richard joined the team in December 2021. He was previously a City Councillor in Manchester and a Parliamentary Candidate in Middlesbrough.

Jack Dart

Social Media Manager

    Jack joined the team in January 2022 to manage the European Movement's online presence across social media and to lead our digital advertising strategy.

    Previously, Jack founded Inspire EU, a pro-EU youth group, and Yes I Will Vote, a youth voter registration campaign. He served on Torbay Council from 2019 to 2023 and was the President of LSBU Students for Europe.

    In addition to his work with the European Movement, Jack was the Social Media Officer for Care4Calais, supporting refugee causes.

Public Affairs Manager

    Joe has joined in the newly created position of public affairs manager. With a legal background and experience working with the People Vote campaign and the Labour Movement for Europe - Joe is looking to increase the EMUK's influence in the corridors of power.

Field & Grassroots Team

Scott Daniells

Grassroots Engagement Manager

    Scott manages the European Movement's member events, such as our webinars, AGM and elections. He also provides governance support for the movement and works with the field team to empower our network of grassroots groups.

    He was previously Assistant Organiser of the million person People's Vote marches and a Parade Manager at Pride in London. He is also a volunteer with St John Ambulance.

Ellie Glass

Local Campaigns Manager

    Ellie is the Local Campaigns Manager at European Movement UK and works closely with the local groups to support their campaigns and grow engagement across the country.

    Previously, Ellie worked for Members of Parliament leading constituency campaigns, liaising with key stakeholders to influence change, and organised events in Westminster and the constituency. She also worked for the former West Midlands Mayor during his re-election campaign in 2024.

Madeleina Kay

Youth Engagement Officer

    Madeleina is Youth Engagement Officer, working with the Young European Movement to mobilise support for the European Movement from young people across the UK.

    Madeleina has worked as a Social Media Campaigner and Communications Consultant, collaborating with grassroots networks, youth led movements and foundations across Europe. She is currently studying MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins.

Organiser, European Movement in Scotland

    David joined the European Movement as the Scotland Membership and Campaigns Coordinator in January 2023.

    David spent 15 years in elected office, holding senior political roles in Scotland's largest local authority and served as the Chair of the UK's largest cultural trust.

    David, is a Community Education graduate of the University of Strathclyde and has also worked in the community, third and non-governmental sectors in Scotland and across Europe.

Organiser, Wales for Europe

    Joe works for the European Movement as the Membership and Campaigns Coordinator for one of our closest partners - Wales for Europe.

    A graduate from the University of Exeter with a First in Politics, Joe joined the European Movement team in January 2022.

Michael Anderson

Communication & Campaigns Officer

    Michael works across both the Comms and Membership teams contributing to EM's objectives of campaigning for a closer relationship with the EU as well as growing EM as a mass membership organisation.

    With years of experience working both in the sustainability sector and as a policy researcher for the grassroots organisation Labour for a Green New Deal, Michael is with us to rebuild the UK's relationship with Europe.

Digital Fundraising & Campaigns Officer

    Sean is the European Movement's Digital Fundraising and Campaigns Officer. He assists the movement in delivering content and campaigns to its members and helps to ensure effective fundraising and lobbying to strengthen the EMUK for the future.

    A graduate from the University of East Anglia in 2019, Sean joined the EMUK team in 2024, bringing with him his experience in political science and communications, specialising in European affairs.

Membership Officer

    Victoria works for the European Movement as the Membership Officer, working with the membership team to improve the membership experience as well as growing EM as a mass membership organisation.

    A graduate from Cardiff University, Vicky joined the European Movement team in September 2023. She has over 10 years of experience working in membership for a not-for-profit organisation.

    Pierce manages the European Movement's database and website platforms, to ensure we provide the best experience to our supporters.

    Originally from Northern Ireland, Pierce has worked at companies such as Google, Cancer Research UK, and JustGiving, and is the former leader of the political party, Volt UK.

Strategic Communications Advisor

    With a track record of political and public sector campaigns that inspire debate and shift opinion, Pablo is responsible for our communications to shape public narrative about the impact of leaving the EU.

    He has worked alongside some of the country's most senior public figures including the Deputy Prime Minister, Secretaries of State, Ministers, political party leaders and Britain's most acclaimed talents Billie Piper, Kate Garraway and Hugh Bonneville.

Strategic Advisor, Policy & Media

    As Policy and Media Advisor, Mark works across the European Movement to provide the team with policy and media advice.

    Mark brings a wealth of experience to the team, having worked in Brussels for over 20 years in roles as varied as Communications Manager in the European Parliament and Head of Media for the European Commission's London Office.
