EU funding benefited diverse communities across the UK, enriching the lives of many and making many crucial projects and initiatives a reality. The UK government pledged to match lost EU funding pound-for-pound, but this is not guaranteed. What’s more, unless replacement funding is targeted at the roots of socio-economic problems, it could fail to reach those who really need it. Funding should be delivered in partnership with local authorities and specialist organisations, not doled out centrally from Westminster.
Write to your MP asking them to push the government to put equality, inclusion, and sustainability objectives at the heart of the new Shared Prosperity Fund.
