    We are better than Brexit!

The EU has bought a peace and prosperity in a way Europe has never known. Long may this continue.

We can improve our EU from the inside for the better if we are in it. Furthermore, don’t scapegoat the EU , we “The People” must take responsibility and look to our domestic politicians and insist on a fairer society. I’ve been on the anti austerity marches & I’ve worked in the NHS my whole adult life, and it is obviously not Europe’s fault we are in a mess, it’s ours. Unite don’t untie! The world is a dangerous place, especially now. We are stronger in the EU with our natural trading friends and neighbours. Scapegoating “ the other” is the oldest defence, but it won’t change the facts. Remain💙💛❤️💙💛

In a world of demagogues, fascists and tyrants east and west, we’re better, safer, stronger staying together with our peaceful European neighbours. My father helped collect nearly-dead Jews, gays and gypsies from concentration camps in 1945, and we will be sliding back into those dismal dark days if Europe is divided again, this time by corrupt inside traders and their political and media puppets.

In 1989 I was marching with my dad in the Monday Demonstrations in Leipzig East Germany fighting for german unity! That’s part of MY history. It’s breaking my heart to see my chosen european homeland breaking apart like this! This time I will be marching with my 3 children, that’s their history and at least they will remember the spirit of a march.

Because the government has been waterboarding our parliament and the country for 2 years. Enough is enough!

I’m marching because Brexit is already making us poorer, jobs are being lost and the economy will take many years to recover. The best deal is the one we have now.

I work as an NHS nurse – this country needs the EU for the NHS to continue – research, medicines, staff – we will be so much worse off if we isolate ourselves from Europe.

I really worry about the chaos that will follow after Brexit.

Because I believe in cooperation between people. Nationality is to be celebrated and acknowledged but only when countries work cooperatively can our futures be secure.

I am marching for the future of our country for my children and grandchildren three of whom are Irish. I voted to remain in 1975 and life has improved so much in so many ways since those times, we cannot go back.

The electorate were lied to and the Leave campaign cheated in order to make EU membership look like a bad thing when it is not.

Even the people who voted Leave do not agree on what they voted for and it’s highly likely that no one option would poll more than those who voted Remain if they were put to the people… but the PM is ignoring this and now ignoring parliament too, claiming that a slim majority is the ‘will of the people’ and destroying our country in the process.

This was an insane idea right from the start – but the epic failure of our so-called leaders to carry it out long ago reached the level of farce. The EU has lead to over 70 years of peace amongst it’s members (never mind the economic benefits). If any other institution had fulfilled it’s primary function so incredibly well, we’d never consider leaving.

Brexit is a crime scene obtained through lies, fraud & criminality. It has to be stopped and those responsible held accountable. The best deal is the one we have. We need to properly participate in Europe and the European Parliament to make it better for all.

This will be my first demo ever and I will be marching because even though the EU is very far from perfect, I have not seen any compelling explanation how the UK could be better off by being on its own. Less bargaining power in global trade deals, more complicated future trade with the EU, Burdens for youngsters to study, work or live in the EU, limited or no benefits from collaboration within the EU regarding security, research, food and health standards etc. and the risk of a violent conflict in Northern Ireland cannot be appealing to anyone. People have been lied to in the referendum campaign and at the same time even the most knowledgeable people completely ignored or underestimated the Good Friday agreement which was only possible because the UK and Ireland are EU members. And what is more, the PM thinks she can table as many meaningful votes on the same deal as she desires whereas the people only get one choice based on information that was incorrect and incomplete. So this march is in a way also to help defend our democracy.

Can’t march due to mobility issues but with the marchers in spirit.

Brexit is and always was a nonsensical notion, and no sane government would have attempted to put it through

    I’m going for multiple reasons:

    - because I believe in Europe as an entity in the polity of the world

    - because the EU has played a major role in keeping the peace since 1945, a longer peace than Europe has known for 4/500 years, depending on historical interpretation.

    - because Cameron should never have called the first referendum

    - because the first referendum was lost on the basis of mendacious claims, was advisory, and influenced by illegal activities.

    - because any sane person knows Brexit is stupid! Including 95% of the House of Commons…
