Call for Brexit being Put to the People - This Saturday

Published on March 19, 2019

Join us on the march for a People’s Vote on the 23 March in central London and show again that the will of the people is now to get a vote on the final Brexit deal.

History is unfolding in front of our eyes, dizzyingly fast and with all the votes, amendments and amended amendments it can be easy to lose track of where we are and the fact remaining is still possible. This last week in Parliament, through all of the twists and turns of voices and votes lost, a couple of things are clear.

Firstly, Parliament doesn’t believe the UK is ready to leave the EU on the 29 March and will seek an extension of Article 50. Up until now the Prime Minister has repeatedly insisted we would leave on the 29 March but this has been overwhelmingly rejected by Parliament. What was previously a fixed date has now shifted and this shift creates space for a People’s Vote to be held.

Secondly, no deal has been taken off the table which removes the false choice the Prime Minister has been trying to make between her deal and no deal. The UK can still remain and we need to show that a People’s Vote is the best solution to allow us to move on.

The People’s Vote campaign has come a long way in a short time and, even though time is short, there’s still time enough to have your say and help us find a way to stay. Bring everyone you’ve ever met and join hundreds of thousands of us from around the country on the long walk to remaining…
