Join me at the Put it to the People March

Published on February 20, 2019

On 23 March the Put It to the People March will take place in Westminster. It will be an opportunity to demonstrate the ever-growing opposition to the Brexit deal offered by the Prime Minister and, in particular, the real risk that the UK will crash out of the EU as soon as 29 March.

The march on Westminster last October gave a huge boost to the People's Vote campaign. Hundreds of thousands of us showed up from all over the UK. We showed the depth of feeling across the land

Now, with just days before our notice to leave the EU expires and still with no arrangements in place to manage the transition, it is essential to show our support for the parties already supporting a People's Vote (including the Lib Dems, the SNP, Plaid Cymru & the Greens), to encourage the Labour Party, which remains open to the idea; and to encourage the Conservative Party MPs who are fighting a no-deal Brexit.

The upcoming Put It to the People March is every bit as important - maybe even more so, now that opinion polls show greater support for a second referendum. We see every day that Parliament cannot agree on a single course of action. The Prime Minister cannot being together a majority of MPs. A minority of hard Brexiteers reject all compromises.

So I am certain that the only way of avoiding a Brexit with no deal & also scrutinising the deal offered by the Prime Minister right now is to keep pushing for a People's Vote. The Put It to the People March will give us the chance to be heard loud & clear.

I believe we must take every opportunity to avoid the damage that a no-deal Brexit will do & look at Brexit with all the information we now have that we didn't in June 2016.

This is a campaign that cuts across political parties, generations and regions. The Put It to the People March will show this diversity on our TV screens and on social media.

Please play your part by participating: you can find more details on Log on & sign up, circulate the details to your family & friends, contribute to the costs of running the event.
