After 5 years of Brexit, what lies ahead?

We've just marked five years since Britain left the EU.

In this webinar, we'll assess how UK-EU relations stand at the moment and look ahead to what the next five years could hold for restoring greater cooperation between Britain and the EU.

The discussion will cover concrete actions for the government to consider in its ongoing 'reset' with the EU, the possible routes towards more ambitious, long-term progress towards rejoining, and the strategies and opportunities which pro-European campaigners need to be pursuing to make this happen.

On the panel are:

Anand Menon – Anand is a political scientist. Anand is Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King's College London. In 2014, Anand was appointed as Director of UK in a Changing Europe. He was also a special adviser to the House of Lords EU committee.

Alexandra Hall Hall – Alexandra is a former British diplomat, serving notably as British ambassador to Georgia from 2013 to 2016, and as Brexit Counsellor at the British Embassy, Washington, from 2018 to December 2019.

Mark Kieran – Mark is CEO of Open Britain, a pro-EU campaign group set up in the aftermath of the 2016 European Union referendum of 2016. Mark is also a political strategy consultant.

And this event will be chaired by Ellie Chowns MP – Ellie is a Green Party politician, serving as the MP for North Herefordshire since 2024. Ellie is Vice Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Europe, of which European Movement UK holds the secretariat.
