"With the next general election on the horizon, the pressure is on for every party to say where it actually stands on Europe - and critically - their positions on joining the EU. Mike Galsworthy, Chair of European Movement UK, sets out what “targeting the manifestos” really means in practice: how to seize this moment between now and the next General Election to pin down political party commitments for the next parliament and very specifically - get a public mandate at that vote for opening accession talks for full EU membership. The movement needs a target for campaigning. The next general election is that pivot point, but there are a lot of gear wheels that interact with it. Mike will cover how ordinary campaigners and local groups can not only make sure their MPs and candidates hear it, but also create the environment that move parties as a whole."

Mike Galsworthy: Bio: "Mike Galsworthy is Chair of European Movement UK, founder and sole director of Scientists for EU, and founder and co-director of the Bylines Network of ten citizen journalism publications. A scientist by background, he has spent the years since the 2016 referendum building grassroots organisations and campaigns to rebuild Britain’s relationship with Europe. He writes and speaks widely on UK-EU relations, geopolitics and community-led campaigning."

Come along and meet like-minded people from West London.  We are always interested to hear your views and experiences since the 2016
referendum. The political climate in the UK is changing fast and we now have a new Prime Minister. Support for closer ties to Europe - and even rejoining - is growing fast; but what will that mean in the medium term, and for the next General Election manifestos of the political parties?

Just talking openly about Europe with your friends and colleagues, and realising that through the European Movement you are far from being alone in your views, is a positive first step.

course, drinks, coffees, a meal or snacks are available from the bar!

Herefordshire for Europe will again have a stand, near the Young Farmers Clubs (YFC) marquee. Do come to see us. We shall have our usual Your Voice questionnaire and a quiz about the EU. Splat the rat will be available for children and any adults too. We are often close to two alpacas, which draw the children.

There are many views about the EU among farmers and within the wider community. We want to engage with people on their views about a better future for the UK.

Kington Show is the largest one-day agricultural show in the county. See Kington Show It has blended the traditional agricultural feel of horse, livestock and horticultural competitions with the lively entertainment on offer for the whole family in and around the main ring. We have YFC, shearing and dog competitions all day as well as a wonderful display of vintage vehicles. We also expect to have over 100 outdoor trade stands, a busy food & craft marquee and a wide variety of catering options including a licensed public bar.

The King Street Winter Festival is always great fun every year, with lots of entertainment and stalls. 

Our EM West London stall will have an EUro monitor straw poll board with questions likely about PR, Trump & Tariffs. Has Trump affected our ties with the EU? 

We also have a fun quiz sheet of questions about the EU. We would also love to hear how Brexit has affected you or your business? Some reports claim each of us has lost £3,700 per annum, not to mention the huge loss from tax for our depleted public services.
