Statement on Kemi Badenoch

Category
Updates

We welcome Kemi Badenoch as the newly elected leader of the opposition in the House of Commons and look forward to working with her to reduce the negative impacts of the UK leaving the European Union.

Brexit has cut the UK off from its neighbours, demolished trade and weakened our reputation and influence immeasurably on the global stage.

We hope that Kemi Badenoch will learn from the errors of her Brexit-backing predecessors, and sincerely address the mistakes that have been made in choosing a hard Brexit

As the official opposition, we call on Ms. Badenoch to prioritise scrutiny of the new Labour government's European policies and to advocate for a constructive relationship with the EU, one that benefits the UK.

In the meantime, the European Movement UK will do all we can to rebuild relationships across Europe and help the UK find its place back on the world stage.
